AUBURN | Mrs. Linda R. Maiorano DonVito, 89, of 19 Dexter Ave., Auburn, passed away at home on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. A native and lifelong Auburnian and member of St. Francis Church, she was born on Jan. 25, 1923, the daughter of Ralph and Rosina Piccirillo Maiorano. She was a graduate of Auburn schools and retired from Auburn Memorial Hospital. Surviving are her son and daughter in law, John A. and Silva DonVito, of Webster; three grandchildren, Tracy DonVito (Matthew Cipro), of Rochester, Nicole DonVito, of New York City, and John DonVito, of East Rutherford, N.J.; one great-granddaughter, Sofia Cipro and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Vito DonVito, in 1999; a brother, Alphonse Maiorano; sisters, Carrie Viscardi, Helen Maiorano, Mary Capella and Lydia Newcomb. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in St. Francis Church, Auburn, with entombment following in St. Joseph's Mausoleum. The omission of flowers is suggested, with memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
