WOLCOTT: Roger D. Anderson Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. According to his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Roger was born on October 11, 1949, in Norwich, NY, to the late Harold G. and Winnifred B. (Thornton) Anderson. He worked as a truck driver for J and M Fast Freight in Buffalo. Roger was also a proud member of the Wolcott Fire Department, where he served for many years as Fire Police Captain.

He loved camping, woodworking, and traveling west with his wife of 58 years, Diane. Roger also enjoyed hunting, spending time with friends and family, and joking about “junkyard specials” (Dodges), a running tease that always brought a smile to those who knew him.

Roger is survived by his wife, Diane (Durkee) Anderson; his children, Tara Anderson Bean, Tony (Genny) Anderson, and Roger D. (Sue Lynn) Anderson Jr.; his sister, Cheryl (Ronnie) Johnson; and his brother, Randy (Karen) Anderson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dakota (Kylie) Anderson, Bradley (Destiny) Anderson, Jordan (Justin) Anderson, Kirsten (Andrew) Kersten, and Hunter Anderson; six great granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Beverly Peak and Matilda Reynolds, and his brothers Carl Svenson and Robert Anderson.
