Charles E. Carris

MENTZ | Charles E. Carris, 75, of the town of Mentz, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Carris was born in Auburn, the son of Charles and Margaret Miskell Carris. He was a graduate of Port Byron High School, and he was an U.S. Army veteran. Charles was formerly employed by Sylvania for many years. He held memberships with the National Rifle Association, the Weedsport Gun Club and the Port Byron American Legion. Surviving Charles are his sisters, Margaret Muhlnickel, of Cato, Mary Frances Aubin, of Simsbury, Conn., and Helen L. Carris, of Auburn. In addition to his sisters, he is also survived by his nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces. There will be no calling hours for Charles. Services will be held by his family. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY, 41 York St., Auburn, NY 13021.
