At about 3:56am the Ithaca Police Department responded to an area of E. Seneca St. for a burglary in progress complaint, reported by a neighbor who was awakened by the sound of breaking glass. Within minutes of the call Officers had arrived and set up a perimeter. As Officers began checking the location, a male was discovered entering the location through a broken out window. The subject was removed from the window and taken into custody without further incident. The subject was identified as 31-year old Evan B. Carroll of Ithaca. Carroll is currently charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and is being held pending arraignment. No further information is available at this time. The investigation is continuing.
