Auburn Resident Facing Multiple Welfare Fraud Charges

An Auburn woman was arrested on Tuesday morning following an investigation by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

Jean Garropy, 57, was taken into custody around 9:00 a.m.

Garropy has been accused of Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree for allegedly taking property valued at over $1,000, and Misuse of Food Stamps for the same amount.

 

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
