Skies are mainly clear across the region right now, with temperatures sitting comfortably in the upper 70s to low 80s and humidity remaining tolerable.
Overnight, conditions stay calm with lows dropping to the mid-50s in Geneva and Canandaigua, and into the low-to-mid 50s in Ithaca and the Corning area. No frost concerns tonight.
The front itself arrives Tuesday, and the NWS Buffalo office is flagging a few key points worth knowing: scattered showers and debris clouds may push through during the morning hours from decaying upstream storms, potentially suppressing afternoon storm development — but if that morning cloudiness clears enough, strong to severe thunderstorms become possible by afternoon into Tuesday night. Dewpoints climb into the mid-to-upper 60s by midday, fueling the setup. Highs Tuesday reach only 79° before the front sweeps through, with Wednesday cooling further to around 70° with a chance of lingering showers. By Thursday and into the weekend, drier and more pleasant conditions return, with highs back to the low-to-mid 80s by Saturday.
