A warm week builds ahead, with storms returning midweek

I’m watching a quiet evening unfold across the Finger Lakes — no alerts, no drama, just an overcast sky over Geneva slowly giving way to clearer conditions to the south and east. Tonight should be a comfortable one. Lows will settle into the low 60s across most of the region, with no frost risk and no precipitation expected overnight.

Tomorrow, Monday, is where things get interesting. A ridge of high pressure building in from Ontario will push temperatures well above seasonal norms. Expect highs near 82° in Geneva by afternoon, with plenty of morning fog possible as overnight temperatures and humidity linger. Ithaca and Canandaigua will likely reach similar levels. NWS forecasters in Buffalo are flagging a multi-day warming trend — mid-to-upper 80s by Tuesday, with the low 90s possible in the lake valleys.

No overnight alerts are in effect. Enjoy the mild evening.
