A Village of Wolcott man faces multiple charges following a special investigation at Wolcott Falls Park by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Edwin Hardy III, 49, was arrested on June 16. According to authorities, the charges stem from an incident where Hardy allegedly unlawfully possessed marihuana in public view next to a playground inside the park.
It is further alleged that when deputies asked Hardy to identify himself, he refused to provide his information. When deputies subsequently attempted to take him into custody, Hardy allegedly intentionally tried to prevent the arrest and resisted the officers.
Hardy was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the Fifth Degree, one count of Criminal Obstruction of Governmental Administration, and one count of Resisting Arrest.
Following his arrest, Hardy was transported to the Wayne County Jail for processing and later released on an appearance ticket.
He is scheduled to appear in the Village of Wolcott Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
