A Town of Lyons woman was arrested Saturday evening following a trespassing investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Alaina Smith, 32, of Lyons, was taken into custody on Saturday. According to deputies, Smith was allegedly observed walking across the CSX railroad tracks south of Geneva Street and Depew Avenue in Lyons. Authorities noted that the railroad tracks are clearly posted as no trespassing areas.

Smith was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree.

Following her arrest, Smith was processed and released with an appearance ticket.

She is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
