On Tuesday, two inmates at the Seneca County Correctional Facility were arrested by Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies following a contraband investigation.

Jon Bond, 22, and Steven Johnson, 50, both of Seneca Falls, were charged with Promoting Prison Contraband and Conspiracy.

The investigation began on Saturday when Seneca County Corrections Staff discovered dangerous contraband within the jail. Deputies determined that Bond allegedly possessed a Bic isobutane-fueled pocket lighter and distributed it to Johnson while inside the facility.

Both men, who are currently incarcerated on unrelated charges, were processed by corrections staff and held to await Centralized Arraignment.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
