Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Dundee man following a series of violent incidents spanning three separate residences.

Jonathan Shearin, 34, of Dundee, was arrested and charged with five counts of Burglary in the First Degree, one count of Robbery in the Second Degree, nine counts of Assault in the Second Degree, one count of Assault in the Third Degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.

The arrest followed deputies’ response to a reported disturbance at a residence on Hydesville Road in the Town of Arcadia. Upon arrival, deputies found three victims who had been assaulted and required medical attention; however, the suspect had already fled. While investigating, a second 911 call reported an assault on Tellier Road in the Town of Arcadia, where a victim sustained an arm injury after the suspect allegedly attempted to force entry. Deputies later discovered the suspect in a neighboring residence, where he had allegedly assaulted two additional occupants. In total, six victims from three separate residences were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.

Shearin was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await Centralized Arraignment.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, the Newark Police Department, and Wayne County EMS.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
