On Saturday, a Rushville man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the Town of Canandaigua.
Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a grey Chevy Cruze near the intersection of State Route 364 and County Road 18 at approximately 12:26 a.m. for disobeying a traffic control device and failing to signal a right turn.
The driver, 61-year-old Daniel Norris, allegedly showed significant signs of intoxication during standardized field sobriety tests. He was arrested at 12:44 a.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated.
Deputies reported that Norris was transported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath analysis.
He was taken to the Ontario County Jail to await Centralized Arraignment Part court and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.
