On Wednesday, New York State Police arrested Scott Goodrich, 62, of Newfield, following an investigation into stolen utility services.
Goodrich was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, a class D felony, and Theft of Services, a misdemeanor.
An investigation determined that Goodrich, who resides in an apartment on Elmira Road in Newfield, allegedly entered a vacant apartment unit illegally and ran a power cord to his own residence to obtain electricity.
Goodrich was arrested and processed at State Police Ithaca before being transported to the Tompkins County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
