Rochester Man Charged With Victor Larceny

On Thursday, a Rochester man was taken into custody following a shoplifting complaint at a retail store in the Town of Victor.

Michael Matteson, 24, of Rochester, is accused of stealing merchandise from the Von Maur department store located at 300 Eastview Mall Drive. According to investigators, Matteson allegedly passed all points of sale without paying for items valued at $172.

Matteson was charged with petit larceny and was released with an appearance ticket.

He is scheduled to answer the charge in the Town of Victor Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
