On Thursday, a Canandaigua man was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop.

Deputies with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office stopped 20-year-old Jake Miller in the parking lot of a business at 2510 State Route 332 in the Town of Canandaigua. Following an investigation and a series of standardized field sobriety tests, deputies determined Miller was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Miller was issued uniform traffic tickets for driving while intoxicated, failure to use a turn signal, failure to use a turn signal before slowing or braking, operating a vehicle without operational license plate lights, and possessing an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.

Miller was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Canandaigua Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
