A Lyons woman is facing a petit larceny charge after authorities say she returned a lost wallet but kept cash that was inside.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested 65-year-old Tammy Eygnor following an investigation into an incident at the Sunoco on Geneva Street in the Town of Lyons.

According to deputies, Eygnor found a wallet on the ground at the gas station and returned it to its owner after allegedly removing cash from it.

Eygnor was charged with petit larceny and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing. She was later released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lyons Court at a later date to answer the charge.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
