A parole compliance check at a Bath hotel resulted in the arrest of a local man on multiple felony drug charges.

According to the Village of Bath Police Department, officers responded to the Finger Lakes Inn at 330 West Morris Street at approximately 2 p.m. on June 23 to assist New York State Parole with a compliance check involving a parolee staying at the hotel.

During the compliance check, parole officers located suspected controlled substances inside the parolee’s room and turned the investigation over to the Bath Police Department.

Police said the investigation determined that 67-year-old Keith Graves was in possession of a quantity of suspected fentanyl, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, and several items consistent with the packaging and sale of narcotics.

Graves was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both Class B felonies.

He was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment, where he was held without bail.

Authorities said Graves is a seven-time convicted felon in New York and remains under the supervision of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
