On Saturday, deputies of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 38-year-old Village of Newark man following an investigation into a larceny that occurred at the Dollar General in the Town of Sodus on June 29th.

Authorities arrested Christopher Bowerman for Petit Larceny. The charge stems from an incident at the retail store located on Ridge Road, where Bowerman allegedly stole a t-shirt, a hat, and a pair of slippers. Security camera footage captured Bowerman entering the establishment without a shirt or hat on, and later exiting the store wearing the unpaid items and a new pair of shoes.

Bowerman was located in the Town of Arcadia, taken into custody, and transported to the Wayne County Jail for processing.

He was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Sodus Town Court on August 8th at 10:00 a.m. to answer the charge.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
