On Wednesday morning, a Hammondsport woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

Christina Smarsh, 55, was taken into custody after being located by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office during an unrelated incident. Deputies from both agencies met at a location in Hammondsport, where Smarsh was turned over to Yates County authorities.

Smarsh was arrested on a warrant charging her with Violation of Probation. Following the transfer, she was transported to the Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
