On Tuesday evening, two people were arrested by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office following a traffic stop in the Town of Canandaigua.

Brittany Brown, 37, of Brockport, and Jason Herington, 43, of Clifton Springs, were taken into custody without incident on State Route 332. According to deputies, the arrests were the result of a traffic stop where Brown and Herington were allegedly found to have a white powder-like substance. A presumptive field test of the substance yielded a positive result for Cocaine.

Both individuals were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

Brown and Herington were issued appearance tickets and will return to the Canandaigua Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
