Five individuals were arrested by New York State Police following a report of a physical altercation involving a firearm near William Street and Queen Street in the village of Lyons.

At approximately 4:56 p.m. on June 30th, Troopers responded to the scene and determined that a verbal dispute had escalated into a physical altercation between multiple individuals. During the incident, one of the occupants of a vehicle allegedly displayed a firearm and threatened a victim while preventing others from intervening.

Troopers quickly located the suspect vehicle, a 2015 Chevrolet Trax, and conducted a traffic stop on Geneva Street in the town of Lyons, where all five occupants were safely detained. During a protective frisk and subsequent search of the vehicle, Troopers recovered two loaded handguns, including a loaded 9mm CZ P-07 equipped with a conversion kit and laser attachment, and a loaded Ruger .45 caliber pistol that had been reported stolen to the Rochester Police Department in September 2024. Investigators also recovered multiple high-capacity magazines and ammunition.

The arrested individuals include Justin Letts, 20, of Geneva; Brandon Thomas, 19, of Waterloo; Najib Brown, 21, of Waterloo; Harmonajah Shorter, 20, of Waterloo; and Latrell Graves, 19, of Savannah.

All five suspects were charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree. Letts was additionally charged with Menacing in the Second Degree.

All five individuals were processed at SP Lyons and transported to the Wayne County Jail for centralized arraignment. The investigation remains ongoing by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
