A Cato woman faces multiple felony charges following an investigation by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, Ivy Rice was arrested by deputies in connection with a local fraud investigation. The 38-year-old was charged with Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, and Misuse of Food Stamps over $1,000.
Authorities allege that Rice submitted false documentation to obtain public assistance benefits and illegally took property valued at more than $1,000.
