On Tuesday, Ontario County Deputies arrested a Canandaigua man in the Town of Phelps following a reported order of protection violation.

Joshua Cooper, 33, was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. The charge stems from an incident where Cooper allegedly violated a full stay-away order of protection by sending multiple messages to a protected party.

Cooper was transported to the Ontario County Jail for Centralized Arraignment Part processing.

He is scheduled to answer the charge in Phelps Town Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
