Canandaigua Man Charged After Traffic Stop in Penn Yan

A Canandaigua man has been charged following a traffic stop in Penn Yan.

According to Penn Yan Police, 65-year-old Timothy Pratt was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree after officers observed him operating a vehicle in the Yates County Office Building parking lot.

Police say the incident occurred while an officer was conducting DMV checks during a Victim Impact Panel at the location. During that time, the officer observed a vehicle enter the parking lot, and the driver was later identified as Pratt by Yates County Probation Officers.

Authorities say Pratt’s vehicle was subsequently towed to the Penn Yan Police impound lot.

Pratt is expected to answer the charge in court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
