On Friday, State Police arrested a Bath man following a child exploitation investigation that began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Daniel White, 32, was taken into custody without incident on July 17 following an investigation conducted by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, State Police in Bath, and the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit.
According to State Police, investigators received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in April 2024 regarding the online sharing of child sexual abuse material through a social media platform. The investigation led authorities to a residence in the Town of Bath.
On February 25, 2025, investigators executed a search and seized multiple electronic devices for forensic examination. Analysis by the New York State Police Computer Forensics Laboratory allegedly revealed approximately 1,555 images and videos of child sexual abuse material stored across several devices.
White was charged with Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony. He was processed at State Police in Bath before being transported to the Steuben County Jail for Centralized Arraignment Part court.
