On Tuesday, a man turned himself in to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office following a larceny investigation at the Auburn Wegmans on June 4.

Jeffrey Dixon was arrested and processed after store asset protection officers observed him on surveillance footage allegedly leaving the establishment with approximately $130 worth of merchandise without paying. Because Dixon had been previously trespassed from the property, the incident escalated the shoplifting attempt to a felony offense.

Dixon was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree and Petit Larceny.

Following his arrest, he was arraigned in Auburn City Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
