On Sunday, Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Brian Canfield, 43, of Webster, following a shoplifting complaint at Newbury Comics in the Eastview Mall.

At approximately 11:43 a.m., officers took Canfield into custody after he was allegedly observed by store staff concealing and stealing an action figure valued at $34.99.

Canfield was charged with Petit Larceny and Possession of Burglar’s Tools.

Following his arrest, Canfield was transported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office substation, where he was processed and released on an appearance ticket.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
