A Naples man faces felony charges following an incident earlier this month where a passenger was critically injured after falling from a moving pickup truck.
On Monday, 25-year-old Reese Cooper of Naples was arrested by the City of Canandaigua Police Department. He has been charged with one count of first-degree Reckless Endangerment and one count of Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Physical Injury.
Investigators allege that on July 5, Cooper was driving his truck recklessly through the City of Canandaigua when 25-year-old passenger Thomas Galgano, also of Naples, fell out of the truck’s bed and struck his head on the pavement.
Cooper allegedly fled the area immediately following the incident without calling 911 or seeking emergency medical attention for the victim. Galgano suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, including skull fractures and internal hemorrhaging, creating a grave risk of death.
Cooper was processed by police without incident and transported to the Ontario County Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court.
