Residents in the Village of Weedsport no longer need to boil their drinking water.

The Cayuga County Health Department announced Friday that it has lifted the boil water order issued Tuesday for customers served by the village’s public water system.

According to the Health Department, drinking water samples collected on Wednesday and Thursday met all safety requirements, and the water has been determined safe for normal use.  Village officials said residents may resume using tap water for drinking, cooking, and other household purposes without boiling it.
