A Clyde man is facing multiple animal cruelty charges following a lengthy investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office into the conditions in which 13 dogs were allegedly found.
The Sheriff’s Office announced that 37-year-old Travis Ryan was arrested Wednesday on an arrest warrant stemming from an animal cruelty investigation that began in March 2025. Ryan has been charged with 13 counts of overdriving, torturing or injuring animals, or failure to provide proper sustenance.
According to investigators, Ryan allegedly failed to provide clean, safe shelter and adequate food and water to 13 dogs, including 7 puppies, for at least 24 hours. Deputies said the animals were discovered inside a room of a condemned residence with a single empty water bowl and dog food scattered across the floor, mixed with feces, urine, and garbage.
The dogs were seized by the Wayne County Humane Society, where they received veterinary care and shelter.
Ryan was already being held at Lakeview Correctional Facility in Chautauqua County on unrelated charges. He was transported to Galen Town Court for arraignment before being returned to the correctional facility.
