On Wednesday, a Village of Clyde man was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into reported animal cruelty that began in March 2025.

Travis Ryan, 37, was arrested on an arrest warrant and charged with 13 counts of overdriving, torturing, or injuring animals/failure to provide sustenance. Ryan allegedly failed to provide clean and safe shelter, as well as clean and safe food and water, for 13 dogs—seven of which were puppies—for at least 24 hours. The dogs were reportedly found in a room of a condemned residence with a single empty water bowl and dog food spread on the ground mixed with feces, urine, and garbage.

The dogs were ultimately seized by the Wayne County Humane Society, where they were treated and cared for.

Ryan, who is currently being held at the Lakeview Correctional Facility on separate charges, was transported to the Town of Galen Court for arraignment.

Following his arraignment, Ryan was transported back to Lakeview Correctional Facility.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
