On Thursday, a Canandaigua man was arrested by Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies following a traffic stop.

Shane Smolinski, 48, was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over by deputies on State Route 364 in the Town of Canandaigua for vehicle and traffic violations. A roadside investigation allegedly revealed that Smolinski was in possession of cocaine.  Smolinski was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

He was released on an appearance ticket and will answer to the charge in court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
