Person Seriously Injured After Third-Floor Balcony Fall in Ithaca

A person suffered serious injuries after falling from a third-floor balcony Thursday at the Cayuga Gardens Apartments in Ithaca.

According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers, Ithaca firefighters, and Bangs Ambulance responded to the apartment complex in the 100 block of Chestnut Street following reports that an individual had fallen from a third-floor balcony.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was flown by LifeNet helicopter to a regional trauma center for treatment.

Police said the cause and circumstances surrounding the fall remain under investigation.
