BREAKING: Apparent Murder-Suicide Under Investigation in Wayne County

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two people at a residence in the Town of Galen that investigators believe was an apparent murder-suicide.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Wayne County 911 Center received a report at approximately 11:46 a.m. Wednesday of a man and a woman at a residence with apparent gunshot wounds.  Deputies responded to the home and found both individuals dead.

Detectives said the preliminary investigation indicates the incident appears to be a murder-suicide. Authorities emphasized there is no threat to the community at this time.

The investigation remains active.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Clyde Police Department, New York State Police, Clyde Fire Department and Wayne County EMS.

The identities of the deceased have not been released pending notification of family members.
