Stalled Front Keeps Southern Finger Lakes Damp Through Tuesday

Ithaca is the one to watch right now — sitting at 81° under light drizzle while Geneva holds at a drier 76° under partly cloudy skies. That gap tells the story of this afternoon: the stalled frontal zone draped across northern Pennsylvania is close enough to keep the southern reaches of the region unsettled, while areas farther north get some breaks in the clouds.

No alerts are in effect across the Finger Lakes at midday.

That pattern holds through tonight and into Tuesday. The front isn’t going anywhere fast — NWS expects the boundary to linger through at least Tuesday, with the most persistent rain targeting the southern tier. Highs today top out near 80° for most of the region, though Corning and Bath may stay closer to 78° or 79° with the heavier cloud cover keeping a lid on things.

Monday and Tuesday bring more of the same — scattered drizzle and overcast skies, with highs in the mid-70s. A brief window of improvement arrives Wednesday, with partly cloudy skies and highs rebounding to near 83° before another round of showers moves in Thursday into Friday.
