The Hobart College tennis team set a program record during the 2025-26 season with nine players earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete honors. The Statesmen also received the ITA All-Academic Team Award.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. Teams must post a combined GPA of 3.2 or higher to earn the All-Academic Team Award.
Since 2003, Hobart has produced 109 ITA Scholar-Athletes. This year’s recognition marks the 12th time the Statesmen have earned the team academic award.
The nine Hobart players recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes are:
- Nick Fischer, senior, Business Management & Entrepreneurship and Economics
- Michael Georgelis, first-year, Economics
- Achilleas Kousaridis, junior, Architectural Studies and Studio Art
- Tarang Malhotra, senior, Economics and Environmental Studies
- Jose Martinez Barelles, senior, Physics
- Tejus Ranadive, first-year, Physics
- Everett Reid, first-year, Business Management & Entrepreneurship
- Tyler Snyder, first-year, Art History
- Aidan Staunton, senior, Physics and Biology
Fischer, Malhotra and Staunton earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition in all four of their collegiate seasons, while Martinez Barelles received the honor for the third time.
On the court, Hobart finished the 2025-26 season with a 9-8 overall record, including a 3-5 mark in Liberty League play.
