Hobart College Head Soccer Coach Shawn Griffin has been selected for induction into the Little East Conference Hall of Fame, marking the third hall of fame honor of his career since 2019.
Griffin is part of the Little East Conference Hall of Fame Class of 2026, which includes nine former student-athletes, one former head coach, and one team. Induction ceremonies will be held on each honoree’s campus during the upcoming academic year.
Griffin was inducted into the Plymouth State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019 and was welcomed into the Hobart Hall of Fame earlier this year.
As a player at Plymouth State, Griffin helped lead the Panthers to a 52-14-16 record over four seasons and three NCAA Tournament appearances. His freshman team posted a 20-2 record and advanced to the NCAA Division III national semifinals, while his senior season ended with a trip to the national quarterfinals.
Griffin began his coaching career at Plymouth State in 1987 and became the program’s head coach in 1992. During eight seasons, he compiled a 92-45-9 record, led the Panthers to five Little East Conference championships, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and three ECAC regional tournament berths. He also coached five All-Americans and five Little East Conference Players of the Year.
He was hired as Hobart’s head soccer coach before the 2000 season and has led the Statesmen ever since. In 26 seasons, Griffin has compiled a 263-148-63 record, guiding Hobart to five Liberty League Tournament championships and nine NCAA Tournament appearances. The Statesmen reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament in 2008, the deepest postseason run in program history under Griffin.
Throughout his coaching career, Griffin has earned three United Soccer Coaches Regional Coach of the Year awards, four Little East Conference Coach of the Year honors, and five Liberty League Coach of the Year awards.
Entering the 2026 season, Griffin owns a career head coaching record of 355-193-72 over 33 seasons and ranks ninth among active NCAA Division III men’s soccer coaches in career victories.
