For the third straight season, the Hobart baseball team has earned the American Baseball Coaches Association Academic Excellence Award.
The Statesmen posted a 3.42 team grade-point average during the 2025-26 academic year. The award recognizes college and high school baseball programs that achieve a team GPA of at least 3.0. This year, nearly 500 college teams and more than 320 high school programs received the honor.
Hobart also had 16 players named to the 2026 Liberty League All-Academic Team, while three Statesmen earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. Over the past three seasons, the program has produced 50 Liberty League All-Academic selections and 10 Academic All-District honorees.
The academic success followed a record-breaking season on the field. Under ABCA Regional Coach of the Year Brad Cook, Hobart finished 32-15, setting a program record for wins. The Statesmen were runners-up in the Liberty League Tournament, earned an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament, and advanced to the Salisbury Regional championship game after defeating nationally ranked Mount Union twice before falling 4-3 in 12 innings to eighth-ranked Salisbury.
