On Saturday midnight, a Town of Williamson man was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies following a traffic stop in the Town of Rose.
Deputies pulled over a vehicle operated by 46-year-old Matthew Williamson after he allegedly failed to keep right and crossed over the center line. Upon further investigation, Williamson allegedly failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Investigators state he later submitted a chemical breath sample that revealed his blood alcohol content to be .13%.
Williamson was charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Previous Conviction Within 10 Years, Driving with a BAC of .08% or Higher with a Previous Conviction Within 10 Years, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, alongside other New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions.
Williamson was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await centralized arraignment and is scheduled to appear in Rose Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
