Honeoye Man Charged With Prison Contraband

On Friday, a Honeoye man already held at the Ontario County Jail faced new charges following a contraband investigation.

44-year-old Shannon Masterson was taken into custody at the jail in Hopewell at approximately 5:27 p.m. Corrections officers and investigators allegedly found Masterson in possession of a controlled substance inside his cell.

Masterson has been accused of Promoting Prison Contraband in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Following the discovery, he appeared for centralized arraignment on the new charges and was remanded back to the custody of the Ontario County Jail.
