A Naples man was arrested Friday evening following an investigation into an alleged physical altercation involving a teenager in the Town of Italy.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of harassment at a residence on Italy Valley Road at approximately 7:00 p.m.

During their investigation, deputies determined that 63-year-old Jack Minteer allegedly engaged in an unprovoked physical altercation with a 15-year-old minor. Authorities said evidence collected at the scene supported the allegations.

Minteer was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and second-degree Harassment.

He was transported to the Yates County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment through the county’s Centralized Arraignment Part.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
