A West Bloomfield man was arrested Wednesday night following an investigation into a domestic incident that took place earlier this month.

Tyler Rakestraw, 41, was charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The arrest follows a response by deputies on July 3, at approximately 9:10 p.m., to a report of physical family trouble at his residence. An investigation into that incident determined that Rakestraw was allegedly verbally abusive and engaged in a physical altercation with his nephew, who is under the age of 17.

Rakestraw was transported to the Ontario County Jail to await Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) court.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of West Bloomfield Court at a later date to answer the charge.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
