On Tuesday morning, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit arrested a Town of Palmyra man following a narcotics investigation.

The arrest stems from an incident on May 3rd, when deputies located James Wilson lying on the side of Route 21 in the Town of Palmyra. Authorities observed Wilson to be highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was subsequently transported to Rochester General Hospital by ambulance. Prior to his transport, deputies recovered a substance from Wilson that was suspected to be cocaine. Subsequent laboratory testing confirmed that the substance was cocaine.

Following the completion of the investigation, Wilson was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in Palmyra Town Court.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
