A Webster man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in the Town of Palmyra led deputies to suspect he was driving while intoxicated.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says deputies stopped Troy Lubberts after he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign Wednesday night.

While speaking with Lubberts, deputies reported detecting the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and observed that his eyes were watery. After conducting standardized field sobriety tests, deputies arrested him.

Lubberts was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Lubberts provided a breath sample that registered a blood alcohol content of 0.08%.

He was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing before being released with appearance tickets. Lubberts is scheduled to appear in Palmyra Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
