On Friday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a City of Rochester man following a motor vehicle crash in the Town of Williamson.

Deputies arrested Jose Guerrero Tenango for Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 Percent or Higher, Failure to Keep Right, Moving From Lane Unsafely, and Possession of an Open Container.

The charges stem from an incident where Guerrero Tenango allegedly fell asleep while driving and crashed into a utility pole. Upon further investigation, deputies determined he was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Guerrero Tenango was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he voluntarily submitted to a chemical test that revealed a blood alcohol content of .12 percent.

Guerrero Tenango was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges in Williamson Town Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
