Port Byron Woman Facing DWI Charges

On Wednesday, a Port Byron woman was arrested by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office following a traffic stop.

Stephanie Chetney, 43, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 of 1% or Higher, having alcohol or cannabis in a motor vehicle on a highway, speeding in zone, unsafe lane movement, and failing to stop at a stop sign.

Chetney is scheduled to answer the charges in Mentz Town Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
