On Monday afternoon, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Town of Sodus man following a traffic stop on Ridge Road. Deputies stopped 53-year-old Duane Rush after observing him operating a motorcycle without a helmet.

According to authorities, Rush was uncooperative with deputies on the scene but was determined to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where a chemical breath test allegedly revealed a 0.24% blood alcohol content.

Rush faces charges of Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.18% or Greater, Operating a Motorcycle Without a Helmet, and Operating Out of Class.

He was processed at the Wayne County Jail and released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Sodus Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
