The Canandaigua Police Department is asking for the public’s help as investigators continue to look into an incident that left a man with life-threatening injuries early Saturday morning.
Police say officers were dispatched to Lakeshore Drive at approximately 12:31 a.m. on July 5 for a reported personal injury accident.
According to investigators, the operator of a pickup truck accelerated at a high rate of speed, causing a man riding in the bed of the truck to be thrown from the vehicle. The pickup then left the scene.
Police said the truck has since been identified, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.
The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he remains in guarded condition.
