On Saturday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Lyons man following an investigation into an incident that occurred on Geneva Street in the Town of Lyons on May 23.
Michael Irizarry, 49, was arrested by deputies at approximately 4:00 p.m. while he was being held at the Wayne County Jail on unrelated charges. The arrest stems from a May incident where deputies assisted New York State Parole during a search of Irizarry’s residence. During that search, parole officers allegedly located narcotics within the home and turned the evidence over to deputies. Following the receipt of laboratory results, the substance was confirmed to be cocaine.
Irizarry was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
He was issued an appearance ticket and turned back over to jail staff.
