On Saturday, a Canandaigua man was arrested following a domestic incident at a residence on Creekview Drive in the Town of Canandaigua.
Leondis Caver, 31, was taken into custody by authorities following an investigation into the dispute. Deputies determined that Caver allegedly strangled his girlfriend and caused damage to both a television and a toilet inside the home.
While being detained by law enforcement during the investigation, Caver physically resisted deputies. He is accused of punching a deputy in the right side of the head with a closed fist, causing substantial pain.
Caver has been charged with Assault in the Second Degree, Strangulation in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Aggravated Family Offense, and Obstructing Governmental Administration.
He was transported to the Ontario County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
